Car sale agreement in Poland, in English

In Poland a used car is sold with a written agreement, the umowa kupna-sprzedaży. The registration office works with the Polish version, so the safest choice is a Polish agreement with a translation you can read.

What the agreement must contain

Date and place, details of seller and buyer (name, address, PESEL or date of birth for foreigners, ID document), vehicle details (make, model, year, VIN, registration number, mileage), the price in figures and in Polish words, known defects, documents handed over and the signatures of all owners and buyers.

After the sale

The seller reports the sale to the vehicle registration office and informs the OC insurer within 30 days.

The buyer files the PCC-3 tax return and pays 2% tax within 14 days, and registers the car within 30 days.

Frequently asked questions
